Gustavo Roig, with over 30 years of experience in education, is the co-founder, co-head of the school, and IB Coordinator at The Roig Academy in Miami, Florida. He has been instrumental in transforming the academy from a tutoring center into a comprehensive day school and preschool. Under his leadership, the Academy has prioritized individualized education, supporting students with ADD and dyslexia. Gus’s expertise in school administration and innovative approach have established the Academy as a recognized leader in specialized education, earning accreditation from prestigious organizations, including the International Baccalaureate (IB) and AdvancED/Cognia.
Gus began his professional journey as a high school teacher for Miami-Dade County Public Schools, where he taught history and economics. Beyond his leadership at The Roig Academy, he actively contributes to educational development through roles in various committees and associations. He is a member of the Cognia Accreditation Engagement Review Team, an International Baccalaureate (IB) Global Conference presenter, and a member of the School Achievement Gap Oversight Committee for Miami-Dade County Public Schools. These roles highlight his dedication to improving educational standards and addressing achievement gaps. Gus holds a Bachelor of Arts in Education and History from the University of Miami.
Throughout his career, Gus has been recognized for fostering an inclusive learning environment and creating comprehensive educational experiences that meet the diverse needs of students. His leadership at The Roig Academy has been pivotal in establishing it as a beacon of transformative and inclusive education.
