Gus Roig
Leadership
IB PYP Coordinator
Gustavo co-founded The Roig Academy to fill a void in Miami-Dade County’s educational landscape by providing specialized instruction to children with exceptionalities such as language-based learning difficulties, such as dyslexia and ADD. Rather than adopting a one-size-fits-all approach, his vision for The Roig Academy is to tailor instruction to meet each student’s unique needs. He provides a hands-on approach to teaching and learning for families seeking the ideal educational setting. Numerous students have benefited from his efforts asthey’ve successfully transitioned into mainstream and college-preparatory schools where they thrive.
Gustavo graduated from the University of Miami with a Bachelor of Arts in Education and History. His teaching experience includes teaching Introductory World History, Honors World History, Government, and Economics to high school students in the Miami Dade County Public School prior to founding The Roig Academy. He has worked in the education industry for nearly 30 years, as both a teacher and an administrator. His experience includes guiding the faculty through multiple accreditation procedures, managing the institution, developing effective development plans, and establishing successful instructional initiatives.
Serving as the school’s IB Coordinator, Gustavo is a senior member of staff who works directly with all members of the primary team, including academy administrators, programme coordinators, lead teachers, and classroom teachers, to organize, lead, and assure successful teaching methods and execution.
