Gustavo Roig, with over 30 years in education, co-founded The Roig Academy in Miami, Florida. He has played a pivotal role in transforming the academy from a tutoring center into a comprehensive day school and preschool. Under his leadership, the academy focuses on individualized education, accommodating students with ADD and dyslexia. Gus’ expertise in school administration and his innovative approach has led to the academy’s expansion across three locations and its accreditation by multiple prestigious bodies, including the International Baccalaureate (IB) and AdvancED/Cognia.

Gus’ professional journey began as a high school teacher in Miami, where he taught history and economics.  In addition to his role at The Roig Academy, he contributes to educational development through his participation in various committees and associations. He is a member of the Cognia Accreditation Engagement Review Team, the International Baccalaureate (IB) as a Global Conference presenter, and the School Achievement Gap Oversight Committee for Miami Dade County Public School. These roles underscore his commitment to improving educational standards and addressing achievement gaps.

 

Gus holds a Bachelor of Arts in Education and history from the University of Miami. He is affiliated with several educational organizations, reflecting his dedication to advancing education. These include Cognia, International Baccalaureate IB, Duke TIP, the International Dyslexia Association, and the National Association for Bilingual Education.

Throughout his career, Gus has been recognized for his impactful contributions to education. He is known for his ability to foster an inclusive learning environment and for his commitment to developing a comprehensive educational experience that caters to the diverse needs of students. His leadership at The Roig Academy has been crucial in establishing it as a beacon of transformative and inclusive education.
