About The Roig Academy

The Roig Academy is ideal for children who have had trouble learning in a traditional classroom. For the past 18 years, we have been providing an individualized educational experience for our students. We serve approximately 100 students in Pre-K through the 8th grade on a 2-acre campus in Miami-Dade County. With our student to faculty ratio being 7 to 1, our class sizes range from one-on-one tutorial to ten students. Our common practice of differentiated instruction ensures that our teachers are able to deliver a customized education to each student.

Our Curriculum

Every child learns differently — excelling in some areas and needing more help in others. This is why we have a leveled curriculum that offers endless opportunities for differentiated instruction and engagement with learning material. Individualized academic goals are regularly monitored and assessed with input from our multidisciplinary team and the student. This creates an inclusive and nurturing environment that allows the opportunity for success.

The Roig Approach

Along with current pedagogy and the best evidence-based practices, we have created our own approach. The Roig Approach; Reflect, Observe, Inquire, and Grow (ROIG), encourages students to improve the skills that allow them to be successful learners in the classroom and our global community. With our approach, students are able to grow both personally and socially. Additionally, our approach helps develop necessary 21st-century skills, such as collaboration, cooperation, problem-solving, and creative and critical thinking. This helps develop the whole child by embracing their social, physical, emotional, and cultural needs.

Expectation of Students

We hold high expectations for all of our students. Our goal is to help students develop a positive self-esteem and increased confidence in their learning abilities. With the assistance of our multidisciplinary team, we address important factors to increase academic engagement and learning outcomes. Overall, we firmly believe that positive learning experiences develop positive academic outcomes. That is why we empower and promote student achievement in a learning environment where children feel comfortable taking risks in order to explore, inquire, and reflect upon their learning.
