Our school is small
We serve approximately 100 students in Pre-K through 8th grade on a 2-acre campus on the outskirts of Pinecrest, Florida. Our classes range in size from one-on-one tutorial to ten students. Furthermore, our student to faculty ratio is 7 to 1. As a result of our small class sizes, our teachers are able to deliver a customized and flexible education to each student.
We use technology in our classrooms
With the strong digital future that lies ahead of us, it is only natural to embrace the role technology can play in improving the learning experience. We use technology like Amazon’s Alexa, Interactive Displays, and Google Chromebooks in our classrooms. We believe that technology expands the possibilities for teachers, makes education more flexible, makes learning more exciting, and prepares students for the future.

Our preschool is bilingual
Bilingualism refers to the ability to use two languages in everyday life. It is very common and on the rise in many parts of the world. Known advantages of bilingualism in children include cognitive benefits and being competitive in a global market as adults. Further, knowing more than one language is important for employment, travel, and making friends from different backgrounds. Our preschool is a partial immersion instructional setting. This means that about 50% of education is in the second language – Spanish.

We encourage flexible seating
Flexible seating is a current trend in education. The purpose of it is to create various opportunities for students to work in an environment where they will be most productive and successful. From sitting on the floor to a yoga ball or simply standing by a desk, elementary students at The Roig Academy are allowed to choose how they want to work. Not only does flexible seating provide health benefits, it gives students a choice, strengthens the community in the classroom, and improves engagement.
