Dr. Jennifer Roig is the co-founder of The Roig Academy, a mission-driven private school founded in 2000 that specializes in evidence-based instruction for students with language-based learning disabilities such as dyslexia. With over 35 years of experience in special education, early childhood education, and literacy, Dr. Roig has helped shape instructional models that support diverse learners while maintaining high academic standards.

Gustavo Roig, with over 35 years of experience in education, is the co-founder, co-head of the school, and IB Coordinator at The Roig Academy in Miami, Florida. He has been instrumental in transforming the academy from a tutoring center into a comprehensive day school and preschool. Under his leadership, the Academy has prioritized individualized education, supporting students with ADD and dyslexia. Gus’s expertise in school administration and innovative approach have established the Academy as a recognized leader in specialized education, earning accreditation from prestigious organizations, including the International Baccalaureate (IB) and AdvancED/Cognia.

Dr. Jacklin Cardentey, Ph.D Clinical Psychologist

Associate Director of Academic Programs and Enrollment

Dr. Jackie has been part of The Roig Academy for more than fifteen years, contributing her expertise in psychology, curriculum design, and student development while shaping the school’s distinctive culture of learning. Her academic background includes a B.A in Psychology from Florida State University, Masters in Educational Psychology, and received her Ph.D in Clinical Psychology in 2025. Having partaken in an array of formal training, Dr. Jackie has strengthened her teaching ability in Applied Behavior Analysis, Dyslexia training, International Baccalaureate Professional Development, and many other fields. It is Dr. Jackie’s belief that students need to love to learn at a young age to set their educational foundation for the future.
