Mrs. Jennifer Roig co-founded The Roig Academy K-8 School in August 2000 to educate students who find learning difficult in a traditional classroom setting but have a range of strengths that can be bolstered by the Roig Approach. Her students are both community bilingual early learners ages 2-4 and students in grades K-8 diagnosed with language-based learning disabilities such as dyslexia. She is a visionary and leader with over 30 years of experience in the field of Special Education and Literacy.

Gustavo Roig, with over 30 years of experience in education, is the co-founder, co-head of the school, and IB Coordinator at The Roig Academy in Miami, Florida. He has been instrumental in transforming the academy from a tutoring center into a comprehensive day school and preschool. Under his leadership, the Academy has prioritized individualized education, supporting students with ADD and dyslexia. Gus’s expertise in school administration and innovative approach have established the Academy as a recognized leader in specialized education, earning accreditation from prestigious organizations, including the International Baccalaureate (IB) and AdvancED/Cognia.

 Doctoral Candidate in Clinical Psychology 

Jackie Cardentey has been working at the Roig Academy for ten years, both as a teacher and administrator. For the last 13 years, she has taught children of all ages across multiple subjects and is currently focused on Middle School Language Arts. Her academic background includes a B.A in Psychology from Florida State University, Masters in Educational Psychology, and she is active in a doctoral program for Clinical Psychology with a specialization in Assessments. Having partaken in an array of formal training, Ms. Jackie has strengthened her teaching ability in Applied Behavior Analysis, Dyslexia training, International Baccalaureate Professional Development, and many other fields. It is Ms. Jackie’s belief that students need to love to learn at a young age to set their educational foundation for the future.
